Welcome to Tadpole.life

A Rescue Pitbull. A Set of Buttons. A Human Trying Again.

Hi.

My name is Tadpole.

I am a rescue pitbull.
I live with my human.
He says I saved him.
I think we’re even.

This website is where we document something simple — and possibly extraordinary:

A dog learning to speak with buttons.
A human learning to build something again.
Both of us trying to get a little better each day.

Where We Are Right Now

We are at the very beginning.

Nine days into posting consistently.
Nine days into treating this like something real.
Nine days into showing up whether the algorithm applauds or not.

The early data says:

  • A few hundred views.

  • A handful of likes.

  • No viral explosions.

  • No overnight success.

And that’s fine.

Because this isn’t about a spike.

It’s about building a foundation.

In the early strategy notes (now part of our history), the conclusion was simple:

Consistency > Optimization

That principle applies to social media.
It applies to dogs learning language.
It applies to humans rebuilding confidence.

We are not chasing tricks.
We are building pattern recognition — in the algorithm and in ourselves.

Who Tadpole Is

Tadpole is:

  • A male rescue pitbull who was a stray.

  • 16 months old (roughly)

  • Slightly suspicious of delivery trucks.

  • Terrified of garbage trucks

  • Very serious about walks.

  • Extremely committed to play and naps.

  • Increasingly interested in what happens when buttons on the floor make sounds.

He is not a gimmick.

He is not rage content.

He is not viral bait.

He is becoming a character. Trust me, he's got tons of character!

And characters — real ones — are built slowly.

Where We’re Going

Here’s the vision.

1. Learning to Speak (With Buttons)

We will document:

  • First button introduction.

  • First intentional press.

  • First correct association.

  • First accidental comedy.

  • First moment that makes people stop scrolling.

Not staged.
Not forced.
Just documented honestly.

2. Becoming a Digital Sidekick

Tadpole isn’t just a dog.

He’s becoming:

  • A gentle accountability partner.

  • A mascot for students.

  • A mascot for work-from-home builders.

  • A quiet reminder that showing up daily matters.

He already “walks” his human when motivation dips.

Soon he may:

  • “Remind” us to study.

  • “Encourage” daily habits.

  • Be the face of calm consistency.

3. Building Something Sustainable

We are not chasing one viral moment.

We are building:

  • A recognizable character.

  • A tone that is steady.

  • A brand rooted in resilience.

  • A long runway.

Slow curiosity beats short outrage.

Long arcs beat short spikes.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog will include:

  • Progress updates on button training.

  • Honest analytics breakdowns.

  • Lessons from early growth attempts.

  • Mistakes.

  • Adjustments.

  • Reflections on building in public at 62.

  • The psychology of consistency.

  • And maybe, occasionally, Tadpole judging his human.

Why This Matters

Because starting again matters.

Because rescue stories matter.

Because disciplined creativity matters.

Because not quitting matters.

And because somewhere out there, someone else is:

  • Rebuilding.

  • Reinventing.

  • Restarting.

  • Or simply trying to get through another day.

If Tadpole can learn to speak, maybe we can all learn to show up a little braver.

The Long View

We are early.

Instagram is incubating.

TikTok is testing.

X has just begun

The buttons are waiting.

The walks are consistent.

This is not the highlight reel.

This is the origin story.

And you’re here at the beginning.

Welcome to tadpole.life.

We’re just getting started.
