Understanding Todpole's Recovery

Todpole is on his way to recovery after his neutering procedure, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey! I always assumed recovering from such a procedure was tougher on puppies than on older dogs. However, it seems I was mistaken. In fact, I learned that the process can be much more challenging for older dogs around Todpole’s age of 17 months, and weighing in at a hefty 65 lbs.

The Cone of Shame

Ah, the infamous anti-licking head cone. It's a necessary evil when it comes to preventing our furry friends from licking their stitches. But can I just say: it is definitely more cumbersome for a dog of Todpole's size compared to a little puppy! For Todpole, that cone has been quite the hurdle. He’s currently battling with it, and it’s not an easy feat.

Now we're down to just four more days with the cone, and the light at the end of the tunnel is brightening. It’s amusing to see him maneuvering around the house, bumping into things and figuring out how to get through doors without knocking over furniture. Each day is a small victory as he continues to heal well, and I can't wait to finally take that cone off him! What was frustrating is now causing him to hold his head up high. Technical Troubles on the Side

As if monitoring Todpole’s recovery wasn’t enough, we are also facing some technical issues with a button that we depend on for our communication endeavor. I’ve got everything crossed that it’s just the button causing the trouble. If it turns out to be the culprit, I’ll sadly have to remove it from our list of promoted items and look for new options to replace it. Just another example of why handling one thing at a time is crucial! I'm going to let him finish his cone issues before focusing on the buttons again. He pushed them twice before we started having the problem.

Todpole has been making major strides in his recovery, and I’m so proud of him. It’s important to stay focused on his healing journey while we tackle the technical issues as they come. Onwards and upwards, right? As I inch closer to freedom from the cone, I remind myself that patience is key. Here’s hoping this will all be just a memory soon, and perhaps I’ll share some funny stories about his time with the cone once it’s all over!
